My mission as a future Registered Nurse is to make a difference in my patients' lives by being an advocate to restore their homeostasis and care for their psychosocial needs. I believe that everyone deserves to be treated with respect, compassion, and dignity. I also believe as a nurse, it is important to become a role model for my patients by setting good examples for them to follow and being able to care for them to the best of my physical and mental ability.

- - - NURSING PHILOSOPHY - - -

My philosophy of nursing is that nursing is not simply a profession, but a profession that gives you superpower to be able to put on a cape and call yourself a hero. As a nurse, I believe nursing comes from within yourself and the confidence you build to help care for one another. One should have the mentality to be willing to take initiative without seeing the gains and loses on the other side. Hence, my philosophy revolves around the idea of believing in yourself that you can be the hero for someone else if you just simply believe in yourself that you can do it. Using this motto, I also believe health involves more than just the science behind certain conditions; it also has a major emotional component. Our patient's might not always know our names, but they will always remember how we cared for them in their difficult times. Hence, nursing is a rewarding profession that has the superpower to touch people in ways we can never even imagine. Nurses have the responsibility to care for all patient's regardless of their sex, race, and religions. Nurses should always follow the seven ethical principles while advocating for our patients.

With that all being said, I want to care for every patient with compassion to make them feel comfortable and confident in my nursing abilities. My primary goal is to facilitate effective and proper treatment to prevent disease, illness, and adversities for patients. I feel strongly that this career would allow me to discover my academic potential while I bind my purpose in life to make people’s lives healthier and happier. While accepting and pursuing nursing as my profession for life, I want to work in a climate of inclusivity, strengthen my passion for nursing and emphasize the highest quality of care to every patient, regardless of race, background, and age. As one would always say, "Save one life, you're a HERO. Save 100 lives, you're a NURSE"!
